We have one rose, but I want some across the front and one more in the back where I can see it from my window while I work.

The rainy day was lovely, too.  flower

A view of pleasing things from the window next to where you work is mentally and spiritually beneficial Smile  flower

So true! They bought me 4 little pink knockouts and 2 red ones, so 4 go across the front and 2 in back so I can see them while I work.  Love

We have red, pink, white, and yellow that turns white after it blooms fully. The red and pink are big and lush, but the other two are scraggly.
Either the soil at that end of the porch is different, or the red and pink are just hardier....which could explain why i see more of those two in colors
in people's yards.

Hmm..that explains why I see pretty yellow ones, but most of the flowers look pretty rough and they don't get as big. I didn't know they had white ones. Mine are still sitting waiting to be planted. But I got 7 tomato plants and a purple pepper plant in..whee. Now to pull the lettuce seeds from the freezer and get them planted and get hubs to dig some rose holes..lol.

Get that done today and you probably won't work up a sweat. Blackberry winter has arrived.

Police memorial parade is tomorrow night and we're going to be on the bike. I was hoping the weather would be nice, but
it looks like it's going to be leather jacket and chaps weather again.  cold

Hello to whoever might come by. What's everyone up to?

I am out of school this Summer, but just beginning to feel life slow down a bit. Long story short, the second job finally got started (research with UNA Math Dept) but the first job's schedule was already made. So, a few too many work hours and some other life interruptions have meant no rest for the weary. I have worked in some chill time here and there the past few days though and am feeling more human. Smile

Hope everyone has enjoyed the warmer weather. I plan on enjoying each and every free moment this Summer.  sunny

Hi, Joy! Hiya

Sounds like life is has been trying to get in the way of your living and your now trying to even things out for awhile.

People here have been hit and miss....all of us busy in our own ways. Sassy and i took a break today and got in a bike ride and while going through
Iron City i saw what i believe to be a white vulture. Thought at first it was a gray hawk, but the feathers splayed out like a vulture's.....and if it was a hawk
he and the vultures were being very friendly with one another.

Glad you dropped in to let us know you're still alive  Very Happy   Kitty

Happy Sunday, everyone. What you guys doing for Memorial Day? We usually roast veggies and some corn on the cob in the oven and otherwise try to relax. This time we have some gardening to do...still putting roses in the holes.

Our tomatoes and the pepper are huge and I see them get bigger each day. How are your gardens growing? Very Happy

sunny  Our tomato and pepper plants are doing great, but there's no fruit yet. We just picked a "mess" of leaf lettuce for a salad tonight
and looking forward to that.
Tomorrow will be a hang around the house day. Get in the pool, of course, and Mark will be doing some grilling* BBQ Mark's son turns 23
tomorrow and he's coming over for supper and to have a few hours of guy time with his dad. He's a good kid, and i forgave him long ago for looking
just like his mother. Giggle  I give up custody of my recliner when he's here and he and Mark always find a "guy" movie to watch while B-Man plays
letters (and sometimes watches the guy movie) and i go downstairs and workout.

*Lowe's has charcoal on sale, two 20 lb. bags for 9.99, and we bought 160 lbs today. Florence is sold out but MS still had a good supply today.

yes, I have a few places about to bud, but no flowers on the tomatoes yet. I love lettuce and have seeds, but I didn't get to plant it before it got so hot, so I think I will save the seeds for when fall approaches. Enjoy your lettuce!

Oh, how great Mark's son is coming over and how kind of you to volunteer your chair! I hope you all have a wonderful time and that you have a good workout. It should be for the whole movie time  Giggle

Yea, Gus, what you grilling?

Mark did ribs for today and has boston butts on standby.

From the looks of your new grill, 400 lbs won't last long.

Mine lose to read, but I have a cure for bored kids. Their bedroom is a wreck, so each time they say they are bored they spend 15 minutes cleaning it. Over the space of a few days they get it to resemble a bedroom. Cuts down on the "I'm bored" comments quite a bit. I have clothes to fold, too...muhahahaha.  Twisted Evil

Yes, that is hard to get used to, and wonderful on the lettuce! I got tomatoes and peppers in, but alas, no lettuce. I guess it has to wait until fall. Rolling Eyes

Have a great time in the park!!!!  yay yay

Ohhhnooooo! not the dreaded "clean your room" suggestion!!  Shocked
Being young enough  Giggle  to remember my childhood, i know how effective that can be.
Well played!  Thumbup
When Brandon gets fussy i always find wash cloths that need to be folded and dishes that need to be put up.

We've decided to skip the music in the park today to get in a longer ride and still
have time to stop at the store for a last minute just thought of additional gift for Brandon.....
today is my baby's 33rd birthday  cheer

Aww...Happy (belated) Birthday to Brandon.  Smile

Stopping by this morning to let y'all know I am still kicking.   duck

All those fresh veggies sound wonderful, and the grilling!  Yum

I've been trying to get some things done but somehow end up on the couch watching my favorite shows on Netflix or reading.  I don't know how that happens!  Giggle

If you see this & we haven't heard from you in a while & you get a minute, please stop by and let us know you are still kicking.  No pressure to hang around.  I know everybody is busy with life in general.  I am, too, but would love to know you are well, or even if not well.  Hug
