I know i posted on here last week, but it isn't showing up. scratch
My post was very loving and inspirational towards both of you  Kitty   I love you  Hoping job hunts
are successful, and sending good vibes for Mr. Sync because of the wreck.
And i hope the Syncettes are enjoying their summer.
And Joy, i don't envy you having to move, but at the same time moving can be exciting...
getting to decide where everything goes and turning the new space into "home".

I've been very scattered the past few weeks, so maybe i forgot to hit "send" on the other post i made.

I've been very happy and grateful that my cancer surgery was successful, and i have
finished my radiation treatments, but on the flip side i've been down because there's been
5 deaths in my family in the past 10 months. Recently 2 in one week.
BUT i'm now sitting here with a smile on my face and in my head, thanks to my old dear friend,
mentor/hypnotherapy teacher, father figure, confidant, and most influential person
of my life, Ed Langla, who died in 1999.
Sync has seen him standing next to me during my sessions with her.
I have a Linkedln account that i have never used and this morning i got an email from Edward C Langla
asking for my endorsement on Linkedln. Of course i did a double take, then clicked on it and discovered
it is Edward C Langla Jr., whom i have never met. When i knew Ed (late 80's) he lived in Huntsville
and his young children lived in New Orleans with their mom. Logically, Ed Jr. would have no way of even
knowing about me, especially 28 years after i last saw his dad, plus why would an Inspection & Engineering
Specialist retired from Saudi Aramco want an endorsement from someone that just has "Volunteer" listed
as their profession? ANYWAY ( i know i'm rambling, but this kind of thing always excites me), as soon i clicked
"endorse" in his profile, i heard wind chimes ...and i'm in a camper in the middle of a field at the gun range,
with no other campers near by Cool

Oh, Purr, I felt that warmth you sent this way! The kids are taking their 7th grade math this summer, so they aren't too excited about that, but they will be when they realize they are done with it at the end of July!

Oh, wonderful you are finished with radiation yay

I am so sorry for the deaths in your family and all the emotions that must be swirling through you now. No I will say that having Ed come to help you would definitely be a bright spot, and I know he will help you through this journey Hug

faint Wow. His son contacting you is amazing! I mean I have no idea why I still faint at things when they happen so often, but how lovely for you both!! The universe brings us so much abundance it's hard to accept it all sometimes. The wind chimes...wow and ahhh, I love to hear them!!!

I have no idea why I giggled at the thought of you in the camper in the middle of the field at the gun range, either. I had this image of random wildlife and various "people" peeking in at you....I am seriously a weird person. But we are hopeful and playing the summer teacher waiting game, and I have been thinking of you.

I got to go visit with my mother and step dad today, just them and me, my husband and son.  It was so nice to have them all to ourselves.  I love seeing the whole bunch, but it's nice to just be just a few sometimes, too.  Hope you are all having a lovely day.

Oh, how nice you got to visit in that way, and I know what you mean. The smaller gatherings can be so nice I love you and help us feel that ahhhhh. Smile

Well, we have so much that sitting here writing these last couple of posts has made me tear up with gratitude for the abundance we have. No one really knows the future, so why worry about it? We have air conditioning, so that for me is a huge abundance...lol. Oh hey, when I think about all the wonders I would have to write all night to list them. Now someone come smack me into reality if I come on here and complain, k? Giggle Giggle Giggle

Helloooo Very Happy

Not much going on right now. The son of my old mentor/friend that i mentioned in my last post
has stayed in touch with me. He said he found a book manuscript that his dad never finished
and hopes to finish it when he has time, and wants to do a chapter about me and Brandon.
We're both certain his Dad played a major role in him contacting me on LinkedIn.

How's it going with you, and Mr. Sync? I hope good things have been happening (i've been sending Smile )

Ohhh, how cool is that? I am sure his dad helped out in getting you guys together! Very Happy

Well, I am happy to report that after a verrrry long and challenging summer only made tolerable by all the lovely energy sent our way (and yes, sometimes it was in wonderful waves...ahhhhh and thank you!!!!!) by lovely people we appreciate, Mr. Sync has been officially hired to teach math at Lynn High School!! Yes, it is a long drive from Florence...kind of like driving to Huntsville, but without the traffic and much nicer scenery...but he is really excited about it and really likes the atmosphere and that he can teach advanced classes along with simpler ones. We had to buy a car after he got hit and his old car was totaled, so he has a comfortable, safe car to drive. So although he will be gone a lot, that isn't really different from him teaching in Russellville and he is thrilled. I'm pretty happy myself! So thanks for all the thoughts and energy sent our way yay yay yay

Oh, and the girls are so-so on school, but I am happy...lol. Is that bad? They start FMS this year, and since it's in temporary classrooms it's going to be interesting.

Oh, and I got all excited about Mr. Sync's job and did remember to say the other stuff I wanted to...lol.

I think a chapter about you and Brandon is a great idea!! You could write a whole book yourself and I can see so many people learning and enjoying reading it, too. Very Happy

Hi, Purr and Sync.  Yay for Mr. Sync!  I know you guys are relieved and no, it's not bad to be glad for school to start back.  I always felt I'd had more than my fair share of quality time with my kids by the end of summer.

Purr, that's awesome to reconnect.  I just watched several videos of Today Show hosts meeting with Tyler Henry.  It was very interesting.  You may have heard of him, but if not, I know both you and Sync would love him.  He's a wonderful human being who uses his gifts to comfort others.  So beautiful.  Here's his interview with Matt Lauer:

I finally had an interview yesterday.  I was beginning to think the name Joy just pisses people off or something...lol.  It went well, but you never know.  She introduced me to everyone, which I felt that was a good sign.  I'm never really nervous during interviews because we're just people talking and lord knows I can talk...lol.  Now if they offer me the job, I'll be a nervous wreck before/when I start and up until I can do the job well enough to not fall on my face.  This process is the suck.  I am so past ready to get this party started.  I read a 12,000 page book series this summer and just purchased items with which to wash the walls, corners and crevices of my home.  I really need to get out of this house soon.

Sync, you're right about scenery to Lynn being better than to Huntsville. I enjoyed the scenery in that area from the back of the bike Monday....we went to
Natural Bridge. Plus i lived in Haleyville for almost 10 years. Beautiful part of the state....

Hi, Sync and Purr.  I didn't get the job.  Ugh!  We are moving to Huntsville the first of next month.  My husband agreed to do that as part of his promotion deal.  After we're out, we are having an inspector come to give us the damage, taking out a loan for whatever he says has to be done and selling the house ASAP.  I am hoping my Huntsville address will prompt more interviews.

Please  Please  Please  Please  Please

Hope everyone stays cool today...freaking hot outside!!!  hot Yuck

I reeaaaallly like this forum theme.  It's so bookish and yummy.  Y'all know I can't deal with sameness too long.  I hope it isn't super annoying to you.  I know most people are not fond of change. I wish I could make the font a bit larger, but this theme is not as forgiving as others. Changing the forum width and especially setting it to auto makes it look awful. BUT we can manually enlarge the font within our own posts if we want to. This is 20. I think the font is pretty and want to see it a bit larger.  Smile

I like this theme, but I can't see it much and it doesn't fit my screen despite what I try. I do like books, that's for sure. I will be thinking of you and hoping you find a great place to live and job!! group hug

Oh, Lord, Sync, what was I thinking?!  That was horrid!  I guess I was feeling bookish the other day or something!  So not good.  I changed it to one of the basic themes, which should work much better I hope.  Geez, my eyes hurt!  LOL!  In my defense, I am on the edge of crazy right now.

I'm glad we're moving and poor hubby is sad, bless him.  He hates change and I embrace it like the mother ship. Giggle

I don't look forward to the traffic but I love new places to explore, and by new places I mean nature places.  Kitty

I'll probably have to baby him a bit at first, but I really think he will like it eventually. He loves the Florence area. I hate that he is going to miss it but I'll find stuff for us to do and in no time he will love Huntsville. Very Happy

I am glad that you have plans to help him get through it. This summer was so hard for us and I am finding it left some feelings I am still working through. We had so many plans change and things not get done it was pretty sad. Oh well, that is life. I know these things happen so that other good things can come along, so maybe your dream job will come through! Smile

Thanks for the encouragement, Sync.  I'm sorry you guys have had set-backs and disappointments.  I do truly believe that everything happens for a reason.  I can see that as I look back but it is quite hard looking forward and walking blindly not knowing what is next.  I hope/pray for more peaceful times for your family.  Sending all my good your way, well wishes, peace vibes, prayers to God, love to my friend.  If one person can bless another, then I bless you with happy surprises and many blessings in the very near future.

Well, good things happened as well, so I think that makes it harder to feel I can feel disappointed if that makes any sense? It's about letting go and accepting what is I guess. But he likes his new job even though the drive is long, and he likes teaching high school, so that is all good. The kids are doing well in school...apparently I'm behind the curve Giggle Thanks for the good wishes and I wish your family the same! Hug

Notifications aren't working again, so I'm just now finding all this.

Joy, i'm very sorry you didn't get the job, but that just means there's another one
out there that is more suited for you! When i was younger i loved moving to new places
(17 moves in 14 years with hubby #1). It was fun deciding what goes where, and make a
home and nest out of a blank slate. I hope you have as much fun with the process that i
used to have.
And i love the stars Kitty

Sync, making plans for remodeling projects, then having to put them indefinitely on hold, is
very frustrating pale  I've been through that.
I'm very glad hubby is happy with his job! When you love your spouse, life is much better
when they are happy...that goes for men and women.

Around here, we're filling out forms and forms , and getting doctor reports, and filling out
forms, and applying for programs...that require forms. We have Brandon on the list for
a residential home ( forgive me if i've already posted about that....lol), while waiting for that
we have two respite programs we're starting to utilize, and a program of medicaid reimbursed
sitting services. Each program has different guidelines and requirements...
which require different forms.  But its' all going to be worth it when Mark and I get to have an
occasional weekend to actually be Mark and Cindy, and not Dad and Mom! yay

Yes, Joy, I hope things for the move and work are going better!! Strangely enough, I was logged out apparently, but still got notification for your post, Purr. Shocked

Purr, You are so right! Hubs and I finally came to a compromise and are making it a small project in the front bathroom. We have to replace the back little deck/porch wood, too, since it's basically a hazard to walk on at all. Good thing it's not a big project, either. But at least I feel we are making progress and we will eventually have a bathroom that isn't falling apart, too.

Oh, how wonderful you are using the respite program, since it is sooo important to take care of yourselves as well!!! yay

No, I didn't know on the residential program, and I hope the waiting list isn't way long? I know sometimes that type of list can be pretty lengthy. Whatever the case, I hope that the perfect placement comes up at exactly the right moment for all of you. This is me rooting for you---> fish (I had to find something to use that lovely fish for) crab

The little fish is cute Smile
IMO, having a safe deck you can enjoy, especially this time of year , is a necessity. I love the way your's is tucked into the "L" shape
of your house...very cozy. Kitty

Brandon spent this past Friday night in the Russellville respite home and did great. The only problem they had with him is he refused
to get in the shower, which was odd.  Then last night i realized i had forgotten to pack his robe.....in his mind that may have been
a valid reason to not do it.
This Friday will be another new experience for him when the care worker picks him up from HH and transports him to the
respite home for another overnight stay that will allow Mark and I to finally get to go to First Friday downtown!  yay

Yes, there isn't a lot of deck...really a porch I guess but made of wood? Hmm...what makes it a porch or a deck? But they will be doing it in the morning. We walk in and out there a lot, so I'm glad we could get it done.

Oh, I'm so glad Brandon got to have an adventure, and maybe it's a good thing he wanted his robe. Next time, though!! I am so excited for him and you guys as well that you have this option. That is awesome and I wish him a great time and you guys fun and adventure yay yay yay

My computer has decided it only needs to send me post notifications from this forum once every few weeks Mad

A retired construction worker, that just happens to be sitting in the recliner next to mine, said a deck is typically an open
wooden structure added on to a house, but a porch is usually concrete and with a roof that is part of the house.
Which reminds me of a story from many years ago when a realtor, trying to make a lakeside house sound extra fancy,
told a family member that a house had "an attached covered concrete viewing platform" at the back of he house.
It was a porch.

This weekend Brandon is spending two nights at respite and i hope he's having a good time....I know i am, and it's getting a little
bit easier to not feel guilty about that....lol.

Oh, I would bet Brandon is happy as a clam. Sometimes Mama needs adult time, and that is healthy and good for all of you. Also, keep in mind that if he does have a bit of time that is a challenge while he is there, he had those at home, too, so just being there wouldn't be the reason. Be gentle with yourself. You are a wonderful mama and Brandon knows you love him...I promise group hug (and that was a group hug from all of the ones here and there, not just me) yay yay

also made time for the biker , cop, and cowboy...lol.
No wonder i'm so tired Giggle

Brandon did good with his two night stay, and i almost did good with it.
Once i got over feeling guilty about it, i started feeling guilty for not feeling guilty. pale

Ahh yes, you can't leave them out Giggle

Great he did well, and yep, I think in the dictionary next to "guilt" the definition is simply "mother". Hey, the goal is to function and enjoy life despite the guilt that pops up from time to time. Just think of it this way. If you get time to be a whole person and not just one aspect of yourself (the mommy), then you will be healthier and be a MUCH better mother. Does that help a bit? I tell myself that often..lol. But it is true. Worn out, stressed mommies need some time to recharge to do our best and not fall right over or run screaming down the driveway yay yay

We are doing well. The girls are all ready for Halloween, hubs is worn out from his 1.5 hour drive each way, but happy to have the job, and I'm juggling them and work(s) all over the place bounce mummy cheer Monkey

Oh, and I want rain and cooler weather. Just a request...ragweed needs to die!!!!! rolling pin
