And testing is a BIG word.
I feel Florence has dropped the ball on the golf course/landfill deal along with not properly making the low head dam on Cypress safe. I also feel Florence should be in ownership of the Sweetwater/Weeden property. I am not a politician. I am concerned with Florence's leadership with the current council/mayor.
I would like to see the city sell the Florence Country Club property and get out of the landfill business.
As far as Sweetwater, I'm not sure that house can be restored. But if Florence came to own the property and it can if it wants to, an access from Florence Blvd would be needed. I think the owner would sell for a lot less than the 9 mill she is asking. If she saw the check.
Cypress Creek could become a great place to canoe, kayak or just float down with the dam being fixed. Add in some other areas to create whitewater and it could be a tourist attraction. Of course TVA would have to approve anything done.
Like I said, testing is a big word. I'm not sure the city is ready for a councilman to show up in a t-shirt and flip flops.... because those suits just look too stuffy for me.
