Zen in action. The conversation will lead where it is meant to lead, not necessarily where you might have been taught that it should lead or where logic might suggest.

Don't miss the beauty of the mountains because you are concentrating on that bug that just landed on your nose.

Quote :
Logic is a vicious circle. And Zen makes every
effort to bring you out of that vicious circle.

How is logic a vicious circle? The premise already has the conclusion in it. The
conclusion is not going to be something new, it is contained in the premise. And then in
the conclusion the premise is contained. It is like a seed: the tree is contained in the seed
and then the tree will give birth to many more seeds and in those seeds trees will be
contained. It is a vicious circle: seed, tree, seed. It goes on. Or, egg, hen, egg, hen, egg...
it goes on ad infinitum. It is a circle.

To break out of this circle is what Zen is all about -- not to go on moving in your mind
through words and concepts but to drop into existence itself.

Would you like marijuana with that trip? Giggle Giggle

Sorry! It was too funny to keep it to myself. I obviously like logic. I like daydreaming, too, but each has their place, which I guess depends on the purpose or the goal you are trying to achieve. Let's just say I don't want my doctor daydreaming in the operating room. Wink I do, however, want to just enjoy being sometimes with no particular goal in mind, relaxing.

Oh, meditation is amazing!! If you meditate regularly your brain waves change the rest of the time as well. It helps us listen to that inner wisdom we all have and to connect to the rest of the universe. If more people regularly meditated I believe the world would be a different place. It's hard to go kill off your fellow man after meditating and feeling the connection to everything else yay

Sync, can I take you back in time with me and have you explain that to my teachers in school? Giggle They just didn't seem to have the same appreciation for daydreaming. Hey, does this mean kids in Asian countries don't get in trouble for daydreaming? Very Happy

Why is an orange named 'orange'?

Why is an orange the only food named after its color?

An apple isn't named a 'white' (for the inside, since the outsides come in different colors we won't use that).

A strawberry isn't named a 'red,' nor is watermelon.

Celery and limes aren't named 'green.' Grapes aren't named 'purple,' and corn isn't named 'yellow.'

So why is an orange named 'orange?'

In the English language, the color was named for the fruit...as the fruit was called an "orange" before the hue that falls between red and yellow was so named.
